Garudan Thookkom was held as part of the Kumbha Bharani festival .Hundreds of devotees thronged the small hamlet of Ezhamkulam to witness the annual ritual.Kettukazhcha, a splendid display of towering chariots made, was held as part of the temple festival .

The temple has a corridor with 365 and one-quarter sculptured granite-stone pillars with elaborate carvings. This corridor encompasses and leads one from the eastern side into the sanctum sanctorum.




Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple is a blend of the Kerala and Dravidian styles of architecture. It is known for its mural paintings and stone carvings.One among the 108 Vishnu temples in India, the presiding deity here is Lord Vishnu reclining on Anantha the Serpent.
